Chelsea finds new ownership

Image
The takeover of Chelsea by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium has finally been completed as The Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge is officially over after 19 years. It was confirmed on Saturday a "final and definitive agreement" had been reached on the sale of Chelsea to the Boehly-led consortium – and that it would be finalised today with the transaction of the club. That has now taken place and a statement has been released on the Blues' website. Nottingham Forest have been promoted to the English Premier League (EPL) for the first time in 23 years. This was after they secured a 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in the Championship playoff final at Wembley on Sunday. The Reds were crowned back-to-back European champions in 1979 and 1980, right on the heels of their first (and still only) English top-division title in 1978, to go with a pair of back-to-back League Cup triumphs at the start (1978 and 1979) of Brian Clough’s famous run, before doing it again a decade later (1989 and 1990). Nottingham Forest were one of the 20 founding members of the Premier League in 1992, but they were relegated from the top flight in the first season, for the first of four relegations over a 12-year span, the last from which they have only now found their way back. Forest spent three seasons in League One from 2005 to 2008,...

Image
This season has been the toughest  for  former intermilan striker, at Stamford Bridge. The world class player has displayed dismal performance in the EPL and seems unfit for these league.  Lukaku, 28, has failed to find top form since re-joining Chelsea for €115 million in the summer, scoring just five goals in 19 Premier League appearances. And while Inter aren't sure whether they could afford the transfer fee required to take the Belgium international back on a permanent basis, Calciomercato suggests that they are now looking at a potential loan deal in the summer. Lukaku is reportedly unhappy at Stamford Bridge and he would be open to a return to Inter, having expressed his desire to rejoin the club in an explosive interview in December. He was a standout player for the Nerazzurri last season, scoring 24 goals in 36 league appearances, as they won the Scudetto.Having signed him just last summer, the Blues would be wise to either give him more time or get compensated in...
